Choose Your Sail Folly Cruise

What To Expect on a Sail Folly Cruise

With ample deck space and excellent sailing qualities, these fast, yet stable 27’ catamarans are the ideal way to sail the river behind Folly Island and also up the creeks through the salt marsh itself.

Trips depart from the Folly Beach boat landing, located at 97 Center Street, at the base of the bridge leading onto Folly Island. Whether we sail out toward the inlet and beach on a sandbar or up through the low country salt marsh creeks, the scenery is absolutely stunning.

Expect dolphin, pelicans and other coastal wildlife. Your captain is Master Naturalist trained and can answer questions about ecology and wildlife if nature is your thing!

The Best Boat Charters in Charleston, SC

We love to share our passion for sailing and our guests often take the helm to steer our fast catamarans. Not as hard as you think!

Our boats are fast and fun but it’s also our people that make the trip special; our captains love to sail, but one of the things we like the most out of what we do is the chance to meet and hang out with new friends for a couple hours. We love what we do and it shows! But hey, we also get it if you want your space up on the bow to quietly enjoy the serenity of the setting! Either way, we will ensure that your charter is enjoyable and stress-free.

A Sail Folly Cruise is Ideal For

We’ll customize your sail to your needs, whether you’re looking for a day sail with your family, an adventure trip to the inlet with your friends, or a cruise around Folly River to entertain clients and colleagues.

FAQs

Do we need to purchase tickets in advance?

Yes. The easiest way is to check out the book a tour option at the top of the page and see what time works best for your group.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations due to weather:

  • Solely at captain’s discretion, and the determination will be made at the time of sail. We monitor radar and weather very carefully and will try to keep guests apprised as the time for your sail approaches.
  • We sometimes delay the start of a sail to allow local weather to pass over. If we do get a storm and have to cancel, we will reschedule your trip or refund the tickets.
  • If weather pops up during the course of a sail, and we have to return during the first hour, we will try to reschedule for another time or refund. If we have completed more than half the sail, we will consider that a charter.

Customer Cancellation:

  • 7 day notice from guest, full refund
  • day before sail, 50% refund
  • day of sail, no refund

Are there restrooms available?

There is a small porta-potty aboard, but we recommend using the bathroom where you are staying before coming down, or at the city park across the street from the landing.

Is there anything I should bring along?

Sunscreen, bottled water or beverage of your choice. Come in your swim suit, and if the group wants to, we can stop for a swim. There are sandbars and beaches near the ocean inlet where we can beach.

How safe is the boat?

Very. We may glide along at a pretty good clip, but since the catamaran is twin-hulled, it remains very stable and does not heel (or lean over) as single-hulled sailboats do.
